Most of those have demos, and while I don't know this for sure, some may even let you test a full conversion while in their demo mode. Besides VS3, the main converting programs on the market are CDXtract, Awave, Extreme Sample Converter and Chicken Translator). So if that's the problem, then you need a way to convert Kontakt to any one of those formats, for VS3 to read it. You don't say which version of VS3 you are using, but some formats, notably Kontakt, ReCycle, Battery and EMU disks, are only directly readable in an upgraded version of VS3.5.Īll the formats that were convertible with the original release of VS3.01 (HALion, Gig, SF2,Akai, - I'm sure I'm forgetting some) are still readable in any version of VS3.x, but the later conversions require the upgrade.

However, I suspect that's not the source of your problem.

In earlier versions, you used to have to use VS3's Import facility, which was always confusing, now you can just drag and drop most of 'em in the main instrument pool or use File->Open, etc. Importing non-native formats has become quite smooth with recent releases of VS3 (although calling ANY conversion program "smooth" is tempting those Fickle Fates of Sample Importing (FFSI) ! ). I just downloaded the free Alembic Spoiler Bass without problem. I click on open in VSampler and go to the folder where i expanded it, but its not there. i have installed the Alladin expander, expanded it and ran VSampler. Ok, i'm having trouble opening the library.
